The Best Animal Hospital in East Fort Lauderdale!

Gentle Care has been my babies?? health care provider for over 20 years and I wouldn??t go anywhere else. Dr. Cord is our primary doctor; however Dr. Cox and Dr. Rafuse are both wonderful and very knowledgeable. In the past year, we lost two of our babies and the doctors and staff at Gentle Care were more than caring. Their compassion is genuine and you can see how much they truly care for the animals and their people. Special mention to Kim who is a God sent and has been so particular kind to us during our tough times.

take me to GCAH rather than Broward General!

I would rather go to GCAH myself rather than see the horrid people-doctors down here -- alas, they don't accept 2-legged patients. Although I've seen all the docs there with my dog most frequently we see Dr. Refuse. I have always found her patient, caring, gentle and has a tremendous sense of humor. I really can't understand the criticisms of this vet hospital unless everyone involved in the interaction had a horrible day. Few go to the vet when their pet is healthy and feeling well...there's not a better vet in Ft. Lauderdale to go to as far as I'm concerned.

hard to explain.... Great people!

I have a minature schanuzer thats 18 yo. and i was interviewing vets because it is time.............shes sick....
well one thing I can say is that Dr.Cords was the ONLY vet to actually take the time to come to waiting room and meet me and discussed the procedure in a human and caring fashion.
I interviewed 5 vets before him and he has won me and my doggy for sure and when I do get another dog I will surely go there!!!!

I've had my dog for 16 years and recently started taking him to Gentle Care Animal Hospital when I moved out east, and he has never been better cared for. Everyone there is always so sweet with him. Dr. Kerry is wonderful, I can't say enough about her and am so grateful for how she takes care of my dog. She's also really patient and helpful with me and all my questions. Nice person, great doctor. Hector and the rest of the staff - also awesome, so helpful and friendly. I'm one of those people who treats their dog like their kid so I know what it's like to want only the best care possible and you'll definitely find that at gentle care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Alan Cords, Gentle Care Animal Hospital for years. When your pet can not tell you waht is wrong, I guarantee you that Dr. Cords can. His diagnosis and treatment are always correct. His follow up care is amazing, he is genuinely concerned with getting your pet healthy again. The staff are wonderful and compassionate. The office is open 6 days a week with later appointments available. I highly recommend him.

1st of all, the staff at this animal hospital were nothing but PROFESSIONAL AND NICE!!!! my vet, dr kerry rafuse was as gentle and careful with my baby boy bobbie(yorkie)....from the minute i walked in till the time i left, it was a very pleasurable and inexpensive visit...dr kerry is a GREAT VET and i would recomend her to anyone who is looking for a new vet or who just moved to lauderdale....nothing but 10 stars if i could give them to dr kerry and gentle care!!!!

Hands down, this is the best vet I've ever visited. The office is unique and clean. The office staff is kind, helpful and capable. And most importantly, the veterinary care for my ten year old yellow lab is second to none! Dr. Cords and staff are GREAT! Highly recommended.

Unprofessional and Insulting Vet

I had an unbelieveable horrible experience here. I have an 11 month old lab puppy who I brought in for an ear infection. The vet (Dr. Kerry Rafuse) treated my dog and I so poorly. She couldn't put drops in my dog's ear, and proceeded to put a MUZZLE on him! He's a LAB and did not once try to bite. After seeing him suffering, I mentioned that I felt bad for him. She laughed in my face saying I should feel bad for HER, and told me I must not do anything with him at home. She couldn't perform her job, and sarcastically told me "good luck doing that on your own." I left in TEARS. Since then, I have successfully put drops in my dog's ear everyday. The key is to sneak them in while he's sleeping. But she should have known that, being a doctor and all. Awful place.

Gentle Care is a beautiful animal hospital located in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with very personable, caring staff. Dr. Cords is the best, his diagnosis is exact and he is so thorough. I feel my cats are in the best of hands at Gentle Care. I have had nothing but positve experiences with my visits there.

Pros: Great caring staff, Always work you in with an emergency

Gentle Care Animal Hospital: we're back!

I agree! My experience how they cared for our Scottish Terrier and especially a Jack Russel/Poodle Mix Puppy (from a rather lousy pet store), who was very ill at the time: they treated our dogs as individuals and gave them the best medical care possible. The sick puppy got healthy and strong.

We left Ft. Lauderdale for 5 years - boy. am I glad, Gentle Care ist still here, and we will bring our dogs back to them shortly!

Gentle Care: The Best Vet Around!

Gentle Care Animal Hospital is by far the best vet I've ever been to. I'm very particular about where my dog, Taquito, is taken and when I took him to Gentle Care, I knew I was going to the right place. He's been to other vets that are in an out of the room and there's no real care done what-so-ever, but Gentle Care was totally different. They explained the procedure so I wouldn't be nervous (Taquito was getting neutered) then when I called almost 2 hours early, they weren't annoyed at all. Instead the person that answered put me on hold and went to the phone closer to where Taquito was so she could tell him that she was talking to his mom. When I went to pick Taquito up, he was not groggy at all but instead a very happy puppy. The vet, Dr. Kerry, took the time to explain how the procedure went and how to care for Taquito, and told me I was doing a great job in caring for him so far.

Basically, I would recommend this vet to absolutely anyone. They took top notch care of my most precious possession and I know they would do the same for you! Check them out!
